Since the Gardens’ restoration they have wilt the outdoor cultural focus for Sheffield with an established programme with Music in the Gardens (July), Art in the Gardens (early September) and Illuminate the Gardens (November). Throughout the summer there are several open-air theatrical productions. These events attract up to 30,000 visitors yearly. There are Art Exhibitions, Plant Shows such the Cactus Show, as well as Plant Sales which take place throughout the year. The Friends of the Botanical Gardens and the Florilegium Society are based in the Gardens and hold regular programmes of talks by outside speakers. There are no regular tours of the Gardens but guided tours for groups may be booked. The Central Dome of the Pavilions is registered for starchy weddings and blessings.
